"Paintings have a life of their own that derives from the painter's soul." - Vincent Van Gogh
“As a transplant to New Mexico, the desert still informs and confounds me.
Just Some Talking
The wind tells us nothing, if we don't listen. Art can leave us empty, if we don't take time to feel.
Patrick Greenwell once worked as a wedding and portrait photographer. Although he rarely picks up a camera these days, creating images is still the language that most helps him understand his life.
His work encompasses both figurative and, more recently, an exploration into abstraction. He works in acrylics, watercolor, and charcoal. His artworks have found homes with individuals across the U.S.
He studied fine art at the Louisville School of Art, in Louisville, Kentucky and Western Kentucky University, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was also a member of the Art Students League of Denver, in Denver, Colorado.
Patrick lives and works in the desert outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife and their canine friend, Maggie.
