Observations (in the raw)
I have been working on a new painting for the last three weeks. It's a self-portrait. And in this painting, as in most that I attempt, I reach a point where I am uncertain as to how to complete it. There is always a part that is not working the way I feel the rest is. It's usually something I don't understand visually, or is something that just is not working in the composition. I am under a deadline on this piece, so I must figure it out in the next day or so.
Pat Greenwell is an artist. A painter and sometimes poet, he has been searching the New Mexico desert for a couple of years now, looking for lost possibilities and probable intentions.
